Protesters including Proud Boys members gathered Wednesday night outside a YMCA facility in Santee, California, where they scuffled with counter-protesters over a reported incident involving a transgender woman in a women's locker room.  Mace was deployed against the anti-transgender activists amidst the scuffling. Local law enforcement in riot gear ultimately took control of the area, but no arrests were made.

Families, friends, and members of the community in Los Angeles spoke out Saturday night and mourned the death of Keenan Anderson, a 31-year-old man who died after being tased by Los Angeles Police officers.

Two competing rallied sometimes turned physical as they were closely monitored by police in Anaheim, California on Saturday. "Protect trans youth" activists counter-protested a group holding a rally against transgender youth from accessing gender-affirming services.

As Burbank, California held its first LGBTQ pride event Friday evening, a handful of protesters mostly focused on trans issues protested the event outside. Counter-protesters including avowed Antifa activists stood closer to the event, hoping to deter the protesters, who were mostly kept separate by the police. No arrests occurred. 

As Super Bowl 2022 took place Sunday at SoFi Stadium, protesters outside demanded "Services not sweeps!" for homeless locals in Los Angeles. The group accused city officials of using encampment sweeps to "hide" homeless people during the high-profile events, rather than providing services to help those in need.

Despite a Department of Homeland Security memo warning that a trucker convoy could attempt to disrupt the Super Bowl, no such event occurred.  However, a handful of vaccine mandate opponents rallied outside the Super Bowl entrance Sunday afternoon at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California, some drawing inspiration from their allies in Canada.
